I don't think it ever jumped the shark. I actually like the Buu saga more than every other saga except the Cell saga. In fact my least favourite saga by far is the Pilaf saga.

I'm actually really surprised people didn't like the Buu arc.. I thought I was the only one who disliked it!~

I'm probably in the minority but I enjoyed Gohan's misadventures at High School and his date with Videl more than the actual Majin Boo meat (not that I didn't enjoy it).
I love the Great Saiyaman Saga, in the manga it was so short though.

I didn't like the Boo Arc, either, for how many plotholes it has, and the ending... Everything else is okay, though, but it's easily AT's worst Arc, IMO.

mid Buu saga

it started good, then it got ridiculous and tiresome

still liked it though, I can't say I would prefer it didn't exist

so fun, it's exactly how I enjoy the comedy in DBZ, when it isn't during fights and moments that are supposed to be tense and serious

It didn't jump the shark until GT imo. And even that is pretty enjoyable for what it is so I'm glad it exists. Also I love the Buu saga more than the Cell saga and disagree with anyone who says Buu wasn't necessary.
"The future of Gohan. The Future of Chi Chi. Not to mention the future of the entire universe. It all depends on me!!!! And I don't care if you're a million times stronger than me! I'm not going to let them down! So get ready Frieza because this time you're going Down!!!"

Novacane for the pain

I enjoy watching the Buu Arc as well, but I also believe that it's horribly written. It's like AT didn't know the meaning of the word "forshadowing" or Chekhovs Gun or things like that, he just pulled things out of his ***** for most of the arc (although, he does this for a lot of the series as well, in Buu it was more prevalent).

Where it jumped the shark? Not sure, maybe after the Saiyans? Frieza had quite horrible pacing and they were on Namek forever. Also, in this arc, Toriyama kind of decided that developing his villains was unnecessary and that's the way it continued. Yeah, I'll go with Namek/Frieza.
